WheresTheGolf.com 2013 Fantasy Golf League!

WheresTheGolf.com 2013 Fantasy Golf League!

I would like to welcome back our previous league players and all new players to this year’s fantasy golf league.

This free game (utilizing yahoo sports) which gives you the chance to guide a group of professional golfers from the early season events of winter right through The Tour Championship in the fall.

To play, all you have to do is pick 8 golfers each week, 4 starters and 4 backups which can be rotated over that weeks golf tournament. You need to keep track of your players over the weekend in case one or more of your players are cut, then you can play your backup players, but keep in mind, you only get to play each golfer 10 times a season! Not all players participate in every tournament. Your golfers must be picked prior for that weeks golf tournament deadline.

To participate in the Wheresthegolf.com Fantasy Golf League, all you need is a free Yahoo! ID, so get yours now and get on the course.

In order to join the group, just go to the game front page (http://golf.fantasysports.yahoo.com/golf) and click on the "Sign Up" button to create a team. Atlantic City Country Club

Played ACCC this past weekend on one of the last nice days of 2012.  The course was in perfect condition as usual.

I posted a 97 from the white tees the last time I played a few weeks ago.  Since this round is not going to be applied to my official handicap, I decided to play from the tips which I have been wanting to do for a while now.  I posted a birdie, three pars with a bad lower back that was getting worse hole by hole to the point that by the 16th hole I could not swing my driver.  I posted a 97 which I was very happy with considering not being able to walk upright by the end of the round.

Laguna Oaks Golf Course

My kids (7 & 5) decided to play golf this past Sunday.  I choose Laguna Oaks Golf Course in Cape May County since it is fairly new and I have not played there before.

The course was in very good condition for December.  The longest hole was approximately 180 yards, the tees - fairways - greens were in nice spade, and every hole has some type of water hazard you must carry.  With that said, my only problem was the cost, I thought $60 was a little steep for a Par 3 course in December with two children.

So standing on the tee box with my older boy looking at the pond we had to hit over, there were two ducks swimming in the pond you must carry in front of the green.  He asked what happens if you hit a duck, I told him it was a 1 in a million shot, basically impossible.  He went ahead and drove his ball over the pond and over the green.  My younger boy who was not paying attention to our conservation, walked over to the tee box and proceed to hit a pop up about 50 yards in the air.  The ball came straight down and hit the male duck in the body, dead center between its wings.  The duck started to freak, and was flapping its wings trying to scare whatever just it him, but not knowing where it came from, it was going around in circles until it calmed down and the two swam away.  We all looked at each other in complete shock that he hit the duck after I just said it was impossible.
